MKDP has signed contracts with two occupiers to provide new facilities that animate the first floor and further increase community interaction at the Old Bus Station in Elder Gate. The first floor is currently being remodelled to accommodate the new occupiers that will include MK’s first competition standard ballroom as well as soundproofed spaces for studios
Romeo Dance Academy will offer a wide range of performing arts classes from ballroom, Latin and ballet dancing to vocal coaching, fitness and wheelchair dancing. While alongside its independent record label and recording studio facilities, New Money Recordings will offer recognised qualifications in music technology and production as well as supporting Thames Valley Probation services.
MKDP’s chief executive Charles Macdonald says: “Welcoming these new tenants to the Old Bus Station is the result of months of work to attract commercial organisations that also provide community facilities. The new lettings provide a sustainable short to medium term base that enables MKDP to continue to support other uses in the building. Milton Keynes Winter Night Shelter (WNSMK) use of the ground floor has now been extended to enable the delivery of a greater range of services for homeless people and the wider community all year round.”
